Car parks are busy

ALL car parks are very busy over the Easter period, with limited drive-up spots available. Please consider alternative transport options. Please have your QR code ready for a smooth entry and exit. Our roads and car parks may have changed since your last visit. Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times. Learn about the Naarm Way Stage 2 project to plan ahead: https://www.melbourneairport.com.au/plan-ahead. To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups. Thank you for your patience.

Assistance from transport into the terminals and inside the terminals

If you need a wheelchair or other assistance at Melbourne Airport, there are two types of Accessibility Assistance to be aware of: Kerbside Assistance and Terminals Assistance.

Both types of assistance need to be booked in advance.

Kerbside Assistance is the help you may need getting from your transport to check-in inside the terminals. Sometimes friends and family help with this and so you may not need this assistance. Kerbside Assistance needs to be booked with Melbourne Airport.

Terminals Assistance is the help you may need getting from check-in to your airline seat, or from your airline seat to baggage claim. Friends and family will not be able to help navigating security, custom and immigration so you will need to book Terminals Assistance in advance with your airline.

Please visit our Special Assistance contact page for more information and to book assistance in advance.

Screening and security assistance

Melbourne Airport offers support for travellers with accessibility needs in each terminal.

Terminal 1 (Qantas domestic)

Terminal 1 (Qantas domestic) currently has a temporary Security precinct because a new one is currently under construction. If you need extra support at this temporary location let the ISS staff member who is at the entry of the queue area know of your requirements. This person is called a Customer Service Officer and will direct you to the appropriate lane and will seek to ensure you have the appropriate assistance throughout the screening process.

Terminal 2 (International)

Terminal 2 (International). As you enter the international Security precinct, there’s an Assistance, Priority & Crew lane located on the far right of all the queues. If you need extra support let the ISS staff member who is at the entry of the queue area know of your requirements. This person is called a Customer Service Officer and will direct you to use this lane. If the lane is closed during quiet periods, they will direct you into the appropriate lane and will seek to ensure you have the appropriate assistance throughout the screening process.

Terminal 3 & 4 (Virgin, Jetstar and Rex domestic)

Terminal 3 & 4 (Virgin, Jetstar and Rex domestic). This is a combined Security precinct for these airlines. There’s a dedicated Staff & Assisted Lane on the left-hand side. This is clearly marked. If you need extra support let the ISS staff member who is at the entry of the queue area know of your requirements. This person is called a Customer Service Officer and will direct you to this lane. If the lane is closed during quiet periods, they will direct you into the appropriate lane and will seek to ensure you have the appropriate assistance throughout the screening process.

Melbourne Airport Security staff are here to assist. It’s important that you communicate directly with them to ensure they assist in the way that best suits your specific needs.
