Reduced parking availability

Naarm Way - Stage 2 project

Early works are underway on the Naarm Way Stage 2 project, which will provide a direct connection from the Tullamarine Freeway to new dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones in the Terminal 1,2 & 3 Car Park (T123)

These works will result in a reduction in the amount of car parking spots available in the Value, T123, and Business Car Parks. We encourage travellers to book online early for the best rates.

We anticipate that this project will require travellers to add an additional 30 minutes to their travel time.

We'll keep you informed of any planned disruptions through our website to help you plan your trip, whether you're choosing to park, use public transport, or get picked up or dropped off.

At present there are no changes to pick-up and drop-off locations. Some public pick-up bays in the T123 Forecourt are temporarily closed which may cause some congestion.

To avoid traffic congestion in the T123 Forecourt we recommend dropping-off or picking-up travellers at the Terminal 4 Transport Hub; simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Schedule for parking space closures

The schedule of works will result in a reduction in the amount of car parking spots available in the Value and Terminal 123 Car Parks. We encourage travellers to book early and book online for the best rates.

While there will be fewer parking spaces overall, particularly during peak periods, travellers will still be able to take advantage of Melbourne Airport’s Value Car Park rate of just $12 a day, which covers almost two-thirds of the car parking bays available across the precinct.

Naarm Way FAQs

  • What is Naarm Way Stage 2?

The Naarm Way Stage 2 project will provide a direct connection from the Tullamarine Freeway to new dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones in the T123 car park. This project will transform the way people arrive and depart the airport and reduce traffic congestion. Construction will begin in March 2024 and will be completed by 2026.

  • How many car parks are closing?

During construction, we will temporarily close 500 car parking bays in our Value Car Park. We will also permanently remove around 1500 parking bays in the T123 Car Park as we make way for dedicated pick-up and drop-off areas on levels 2 and 3. Despite the reduction in parking bays, travellers still have plenty of parking options to choose from at Melbourne Airport. Travellers will still be able to take advantage of Melbourne Airport’s Value Parking from just $12 a day, which spans almost two-thirds of the car parks available. We encourage travellers to book online for the best rates, plan ahead and arrive early particularly during peak periods.
