The car parks and roads at Melbourne Airport are very busy today

All car parks at Melbourne Airport are nearly sold out today. If you don't have a booking, consider alternate forms of transport to come to the airport. If you do have a booking, allow extra time to find a spot and have your QR code ready for a smooth entry. If using the Terminal 4 car park including pick up and drop off, please note Naarm Way is closed until mid November. To access the T4 car park, please exit the Tullamarine Freeway at Exit 18 on Mercer Drive, then turn right at the Airport Drive roundabout and follow the signs to the Terminal 4 car park. Proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups. Due to ongoing construction in the Terminal 1,2,3 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times if you are being dropped off by a loved one, taxi or Uber.  Thank you for your patience while we are building your airport.

Melbourne Airport passenger performance November 2022

A total of 2,539,619 passengers passed through the airport’s four terminals last month, including 647,368 international travellers.

The international figure is the highest recorded since the onset of Covid-19 and reflects increased capacity from carriers including United Airlines and Qatar Airways, as well as the return of Air Asia X.

1,892,251 domestic travellers flew through Melbourne in November, which represents a 461% increase on the previous November, but is 16% down on the corresponding month in 2019.

Melbourne Airport Chief Executive Officer Lorie Argus said work is continuing improve the experience for passengers, with terminal upgrade work continuing through the summer.

“Over the coming weeks we plan to open new Chatime, Mezze ZaZa and Sunglass Hut stores in Terminal 3/4, an Oroton pop-up in Terminal 2 as well as a Daniel’s Donuts pop-up and a new WH Smith kiosk in Terminal 1,” she said.

“These new options will provide passengers with more choice as they arrive or depart, and we look forward to further expanding our offering when the full upgrade of Terminal 1 is completed next year.”

“We have hundreds of new staff preparing to work their first Christmas holiday period at Melbourne Airport which is exciting, but at the same time we’d ask passengers to be patient as the team works to get everyone and their belongings safely where they need to be over the summer holiday period.”
