If you would like to conduct filming or photography at Melbourne Airport, you will need to submit a filming and photography application form and seek approval before your visit. Details in your application will help us facilitate your request and any security issues are taken into consideration to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the airport.

All requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. There will be times when applications will be declined for operational reasons, so please plan ahead and contact the team in advance.

Filming and photography guidelines
If you wish to film or photograph at Melbourne Airport, you must submit a completed copy of the filming and photography application form to [email protected] at least eight (8) business days before the proposed activity.
Requests submitted less than eight (8) business days before the proposed filming/photography will attract an additional $500 fee.
Insurance requirements:
- Certificate of currency of public liability insurance for an insured sum of $20 million (as a minimum)
- Certificate of current workers compensation insurance
Following review and consultation with the safety, security and operations team in line with regulatory requirements, acceptance or rejection of your filming/photography application form will be provided to you by email. Melbourne Airport reserves the right to refuse permission to film or photograph at the airport due to safety, security or operational reasons.
In all cases, filming or photography will not be permitted until the filming and photography application form has been signed and approved by Melbourne Airport, along with insurance details provided. Payment is required prior to filming unless special arrangements have been made in writing with Melbourne Airport.
Filming and photography fees
The fee will depend on the scale of the filming/photography session. It will be determined by Melbourne Airport, in accordance with the table below, after the application has been received.
Please note: fees apply to the time taken to set up, from bump in to bump out. Additional fees may be imposed for out-of-hours filming.

- Landside: is defined as any area accessible by the general public that does not require you to pass through security screening of any kind.
- Airside: is defined as any secure area where you pass through a screening point to access including parts of the terminal and the entire airfield.
Additional fees may also be imposed to cover the deployment of security or safety personnel, depending on the location, timing and duration of activity. You will be notified of these additional fees once details of your application are reviewed to ensure appropriate costs are provided.
