Melbourne Airport Car Parks – Online Booking Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

    1.1. This document sets out the terms and conditions that apply to Melbourne Airport’s online booking system. These terms and conditions incorporate:

      (a) conditions of entry to Car Parks (which are displayed at the entry to Car Parks and are also available here); and

       (b) terms and conditions for any promotional or discount offer, (collectively, “the Terms”).

2. Agreement

2.1. The Terms will be binding when:

        (a) you have completed and submitted an online booking form on Melbourne Airport’s website at https://melbourneairport.com.au/; and
              
         (b) Melbourne Airport has accepted your booking by providing confirmation of your booking number and receipt of payment

3.  Changes to Terms

     3.1.  Melbourne Airport reserves the right to change the Terms from time to time for future bookings and Melbourne Airport recommends you read the Terms carefully at the time of every booking. If the Terms are amended, the updated Terms will be displayed on our website at https://melbourneairport.com.au/

      3.2.  Melbourne Airport will not change the Terms for an existing booking that has been accepted by Melbourne Airport. The Terms that will apply to your booking are the Terms that applied at the time you made your booking.

4. Online Booking System

        4.1. Melbourne Airport provides an online booking system accessible at https://melbourneairport.com.au/ by which you may book a car park space in an available car park (a “Car Park”) subject to the Terms. 

        4.2. Melbourne Airport does not guarantee:

                (a) that the online booking system will be available at all times; and

                (b) the availability of car park spaces in Car Parks when booking and at the time booked for arrival at Melbourne Airport (the allocation of car park spaces may be exhausted from time to time and certain Car Parks may not be available). See clause 9.1 “Car Park Capacity”.

        4.3. Melbourne Airport reserves the right to limit the number of online bookings per person.

5. No resale

        5.1. You agree that you will not attempt to resell or market any booking, whether on its own or bundled with other products or services.

6. Price and payment

        6.1. The price shown when you are making an online booking (the “Quoted Purchase Price”):

           (a) is in Australian dollars;

           (b) includes GST; and

           (c) includes credit card processing fees (if applicable).

        6.2. By completing and submitting an online booking form with your credit card details, you are authorising Melbourne Airport to charge your credit card with the Quoted Purchase Price.

        6.3. Melbourne Airport may, from time to time, offer discounted or promotional rates in respect of allocated car park spaces. To the extent any terms and conditions governing these discounts or promotions differ from these Online Booking Terms and Conditions, this will be advised at the time of booking, and any such differences will prevail over these Online Booking Terms and Conditions in the event of any inconsistency. All such discounts and promotions are subject to limited availability depending on availability of car park spaces, and Melbourne Airport reserves the right to add or remove allocated car park spaces to or from the promotion, or to vary, amend or cancel promotional rates at any time for future bookings. 

        6.4. Not all promotions available at Melbourne Airport will be available via the online booking system. Conversely, some promotions may be exclusive to the online booking system.

7. Nominated Timeframe (arrival and exit)

        7.1. Melbourne Airport will issue a QR Code via email for online bookings as the method for entry and exit to the Car Park. If a Car Park has reached capacity Melbourne Airport may issue a ticket to provide access to an alternative Car Park. See clause 9.1 “Car Park Capacity”. 

        7.2. When you arrive at the Car Park for which you have booked a space, you must scan the QR Code provided to you at the time of booking into the entry gate.

        7.3. Vehicles must be parked within marked bays only.

        7.4. When exiting the Car Park, you must scan the same QR Code at the exit gate as you used upon entry.

        7.5. If you use a credit card either upon entry or exit, this credit card will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) as your booking will not be recognised and you may not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.         7.6. For an online booking for less than 4 hours, you may arrive up to one hour before your booked entry time. If you arrive any earlier than one hour before your booked entry time, you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) and you will not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.         7.7. For an online booking for more than 4 hours, you may arrive up to two hours before your booked entry time. If you arrive any earlier than two hours before your booked entry time, you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) and you will not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.        7.8. You may enter a Car Park up to 24-hours after your booked entry time (as confirmed by Melbourne Airport via email) without incurring any additional fees. However if you fail to arrive within this time your booking will be considered a no show (see clause 11.1 “no shows”). If you arrive after 24-hours of your booked entry time you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) and you may not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.       7.9. You may exit a Car Park any time before your booked exit time (as confirmed by Melbourne Airport via email), without incurring any additional fees. You may not be entitled to a refund or credit for any unused portion of your parking booking.

      7.10. For an online booking for less than 4 hours, there is a one-hour grace period for exit after your booked exit time. If you exit more than one hour after your booked exit time, you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) and you may not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.         7.11. For an online booking for more than 4 hours, there is a two-hour grace period for exit after your booked exit time. If you exit more than two hours after your booked exit time, you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) and you may not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.         7.12. If you inadvertently park in the incorrect Car Park, you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (available at https://www.melbourneairport.com.au/drive-up-rates) and you may not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.

        7.13. The online booking system only permits bookings for a maximum amount of 30 consecutive days (except for the Value Car Park, which has a maximum of 45 consecutive days). 

        7.14. You may only enter and exit a Car Park once per booking period – if you exit a Car Park and re-enter a Car Park during a booking period, you will be charged the drive-up rates for that Car Park (noting that these rates may vary from the rates quoted via the online booking system) and you will not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges. 8. Large/heavy Vehicles

        8.1. Melbourne Airport only accepts cars and light vehicles up to 3.3m high in the Value Car Park and 2.2m high in the Terminal, Premium, Business and Valet Car Parks and that can fit within the dimensions of a standard car park (5.4m x 2.4m). Please contact Melbourne Airport if you wish to make special arrangements to park a larger vehicle.  If you make a booking and are unable to enter the Car Park because your vehicle does not comply with our height restrictions, you may not be entitled to a refund of or credit on that booking.

9. Car Park capacity

        9.1. In the event that the Car Park you have booked has reached capacity prior to the commencement of the booking period, Melbourne Airport will use its best endeavours to locate an alternative Car Park at no extra charge to you. If you are required to park in a less expensive car park, Melbourne Airport will refund the difference. 

10. Cancellations, amendments, extensions and refunds 

        10.1. Cancellation and refund terms vary depending on the type of fare you have booked. Cancellations and amendments may be made to your booking online by clicking “Manage my booking” and selecting the relevant option/s. 

        10.2. You may amend or cancel your booking up to 2 hours prior to your booked entry time. Where the purchase price for the new requested booking period or product:

                 (a) exceeds the purchase price for the original booking, you will be required to pay the difference between these amounts; or

                 (b) is less than the purchase price for the original booking, you will be refunded the difference between these amounts.

        10.3. If there is less than 2 hours until your booked entry time, the booking is non-refundable and you will not be able to make changes to your booking.

         10.4. You may make bookings up to 2 hours prior to your booked entry time.

        10.5. You may extend your booking online after entering the car park by clicking “Manage my booking” and selecting “extend booking” and choosing the new exit date. Where the purchase price for the new requested booking period:

                 (c) exceeds the purchase price for the original booking, you will be required to pay the difference between these amounts; or

                 (d) is equal to or less than the purchase price for the original booking, no additional charges will apply, however you will not be entitled to any refund or credit of the difference.


      10.6. You are not permitted to shorten your booking after you have entered the car park. See clause 7.9 “Nominated timeframe (arrival and exit)”.

       10.7. Except where set out above, there are no other charges for amending or cancelling a booking.

11. No shows

        11.1. If you do not attend the Car Park and scan your QR Code within the nominated timeframe (see clauses 7.1 - 7.14 “Nominated timeframe (arrival and exit)”) your booking will be considered a no show. If you no show, your payment for that booking will still be processed and you may not be entitled to a refund or credit on those charges.

12. Limitation of Liability

        12.1. Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), and in addition to any limitations or exclusions within the Terms, Melbourne Airport’s total liability to you will be limited to a refund of the Quoted Purchase Price for the Car Park booking.

        12.2. Melbourne Airport gives no guarantee as to time taken to enter the Car Park, find a parking spot in the Car Park or the availability or frequency of transport between the Car Park and the terminal building. To the extent permitted by law, Melbourne Airport is not liable to you for any reason for missed flights.

13. Your Responsibility regarding airline check in

        13.1. It is your responsibility to meet your airline’s check-in time and to allow sufficient time for unexpected delays including traffic congestion, limited Car Park capacity, accident or delays or suspension of transport services between the Car Park and the terminal (if any).

       13.2. We will have no liability to you if you miss your flight for any of the reasons set out in clause 13.1.

       13.3. We will only be liable for delay due to our or our agents’ wilful breach of the Terms, negligence or fraud, in which case clause 12.1 will apply.

14. Privacy

       14.1. In order to process your booking, Melbourne Airport requires personal information including your name, postcode, suburb, vehicle registration, phone number, email and payment information. We also invite you to give us your flight details, but this is optional.

       14.2. Melbourne Airport collects and manages personal information in accordance with its privacy policy which is available at https://www.melbourneairport.com.au/privacy-policy. 

      14.3. Our Car Parks and associated areas are monitored by CCTV. These cameras are part of our general security and safety measures - they are not for the purpose of monitoring vehicles. You park in our Car Parks at your own risk.  Your attendance at our premises constitutes your acknowledgement of, and agreement to, this.
