Overview

Victoria is growing, and so is Melbourne Airport.

We are embarking on a significant program of construction to ensure Melbourne Airport has capacity to serve the projected increases in population, exports and imports.

This works program will enhance our airfield, terminals and ground transport system, but we understand it may cause some inconvenience and ask for your understanding as we navigate through this exciting phase.

Planning your trip to Melbourne Airport

New express road plus dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones

We’re building a more direct road from the Tullamarine Freeway for easier access to all terminals.

Better terminals for travellers

We are upgrading our terminals to improve the food and beverage options, baggage systems, rest areas and toilets to help make your trip as smooth as possible.

Third runway

We are planning to build a third runway to help reduce delays and to ensure we have adequate capacity for the future.

New hotel close to Terminal 4 (T4)

We have opened a new hotel close to Terminal 4 with accommodation, office and leisure facilities

Better public transport

We are in discussions with Government to deliver better public transport options for Victorians.

Improved sustainability

We are building a bigger on-site solar farm to use and provide energy in a sustainable way.

Overview of our plan

The 2022 Melbourne Airport Master Plan was approved by the Federal Government in November 2022 and outlines our vision for the next 20 years.
