Road delays and disruptions

Overview

There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Lane and road changes due to Forecourt construction

T123 Car Park Exit Lanes and surrounding roads
Expect delays in the forecourt and when exiting the T123 Car Park. T123 Car Park Exit – Please note, the exit lanes have been reduced to 3 lanes. Follow the signs for detours and updated routes to Melbourne CBD and Sunbury. The T123 exit ramp will be reduced to a single lane from Level 3 to Level 1. Arrivals Drive reduced to 3 lanes Melbourne Drive reduced to 2 lanes - diverted through Arrival Drive (City Bound) and Melbourne Drive (Sunbury Bound).

Temporary bay closures in the Public Pick-Up lane. To avoid traffic congestion in the T123 Forecourt we recommend dropping-off or picking-up travellers at the Terminal 4 Transport Hub; simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Centre Road

Centre Road Temporary Closures & Sunbury bound traffic
Sunbury-bound traffic will be restricted to one lane during off-peak hours. During periods of heavy traffic, temporary closures on Centre Road (between Terminal Drive and Melbourne Drive) may be put in place to assist with traffic flow: Monday: 7am – 10am Friday – Sunday: 6pm – 9pm Detour via Tullamarine Freeway. Access to Gowrie Park Drive via Terminal Drive will be maintained.

Pedestrian access from the Value Car Park to the terminals is changing

Value Car Park pedestrian access
The pedestrian route between the Value Car Park and Terminals has temporarily changed. Please follow posted signs. Pedestrians are advised to factor additional walking time to their journey. The complimentary bus service for the Value Car Park remains unaffected, running every 15 minutes to the Terminals.
