Car parks are busy

ALL car parks are very busy over the Easter period, with limited drive-up spots available. Please consider alternative transport options. Please have your QR code ready for a smooth entry and exit. Our roads and car parks may have changed since your last visit. Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times. To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Road delays and disruptions

Overview

There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

T123 Forecourt

1A. Public Pick-Up (Lane 3) – Night works: 2-lane closure from 09/04/2025 – 16/04/2025 from 00:00 to 07:00 (except Saturday 12/04/2025). Diversions in place for pedestrian access.

1B. Public Pick-Up (Lane 3) – Day works: Both lanes reopen for public use during the day from 07:00. Pedestrian access reinstated. 5 pick-up bays closed during the day from 09/04/2025 – 16/04/2025.

1C. Public Pick-Up (Lane 4): 5 pick-ups bays closed during the day from 09/04/2025 – 16/04/2025.

T1 T2 T3 Terminal Car Park

2A. Level 1: 20 bays temporarily closed for VHA Boom Gate work, and 20 bays permanently closed to build new lift in the carpark.

2B. Entrance ramp closed from Level 2 upward. Access to Levels 2 to 6 terminal parking via Rear ramp via the alternate Level 1 rear access route.

2C. Level 2: 580 bays closed temporarily in the old Valet and Premium carpark area and 17 bays permanently closed to build new lift in the carpark.

2D. Level 3: 260 bays permanently closed for new drop off area 17 bays permanently closed to build new lift in the carpark.

2E. Level 4: 14 bays permanently closed to build a new lift in the carpark.

2F. Level 5: 14 bays permanently closed to build a new lift in the carpark.

2G. Level 6: 21 bays permanently closed to build a new lift in the carpark.

3. Exit: Three boom gates open.  Boom gate lane closures out of the T123 between 11:00 PM and 4:00 AM

4A. Alternate entrance to the T123 Carpark operational via helix ramp from 13th March 2025

5. Car Rental Returns to enter carpark via Centre Rd

Terminal Drive / Arrivals Drive / Centre Road

6. Arrivals Drive: Reduced to 3 lanes and Carriageway 2+3 & 4 switched onto Melbourne Drive from 15th April at 4:00 AM

7. Pedestrian Detour: In place between Value Car Park and the terminals.

8. Triple lane closure Terminal Drive, 29th April between 2:00 AM and 2:30 AM

9. Reduction of 2 taxi bays near old Qantas Valet.

10. Bonney Court and Centre Rd Slip Lane Closure (14th April 12:00PM to 4:00AM) 

T4 Terminal Car Park

11. Ramp Lane Closure: One lane remains closed on the Naarm Way Stage 1 ramp.

Centre Road

12A. Northbound:

  • 1 lane open: Day time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Sunday to Thursday, from 29th January to 16 May). Maintaining entrance to the car park.

Business Carpark

15. No access to Business Car Park

Tips for Travellers

  • Assistance is available for passengers in the forecourt area.
  • Plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time to account for potential delays.
  • For smoother pick-ups, use the T4 pick-up area to avoid congestion in the T123 forecourt.
