Online Bookings FAQs

  • Which car parks can I use with online booking?

    All public car parks are available via online booking; At Terminal car park, Premium Self Park car park, Business car park, and Long term car park. The Value long Stay car park will open during peak times based on demand so make sure you keep an eye open for this when booking online.

  • Are there different rates for online bookings?

    The best parking deals will always be found online so be sure to book your parking for the best value. You will be able to take advantage of special offers whilst making online bookings which is more convenient than traditional voucher-based offers.

  • What payment methods are accepted when making online bookings?

    Melbourne Airport accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Dinners cards for payment of car park online bookings. A credit card processing fee of 2% applies to all credit card transactions.

  • Can I make an online booking on the day that I wish to park my car?

    Bookings must be made at least 2 hours ahead of arrival time to ensure that we can manage demand and provide space in the car park that you have requested.

  • How far ahead can I book?

    You may book up to 12 months ahead of your arrival date.

  • How are parking charges calculated?

    Pre-booked car park prices are calculated based on the entry and exit dates and times that you have selected during the booking process. Your booking will only be valid during the dates and times that you have nominated. please ensure that you allow sufficient time. There is a 1 hour grace for either side of your booked arrival time (i.e. if you have a booked arrival time of 9.00am on Wednesday the car park will recognise your booking if you arrive any time between 8.00am and 10.00am on Wednesday) if you:

    • exceed the booking arrival grace; or
    • enter the car park before your confirmed booking time; or
    • exit the car park later than your confirmed booking time;

    the credit card that you use to exit the car park (i.e. your nominated card) will be debited with the cost of the additional time, based on the rates displayed at the entry to the car park.
    Pre-booked car park prices are calculated on periods of 24 hours or more. i.e. 24 hours = 1 day, 24:01 to 48 hours = 2 days. The number of days charged for when you pre-book is calculated on the basis of the times and dates you select when making your booking. The minimum stay is 24 hours.

  • Does my online parking booking allocate a specific parking space to me?

    We always ensure that we have plenty of spaces available in our car parks for you to find a space when you arrive.

  • How do I know that my booking has been placed?

    Shortly after placing your booking, you will receive an email with a booking reference number confirming all your details. You should print this email and bring it with you to the airport including the map of where your chosen car park is located. You can also view your booking by simply clicking on “Manage My Booking”. All bookings are made subject to our Terms and Conditions.

  • What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

    You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled arrival time. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions as cancellation fees may apply. Cancel your booking by clicking on the “Manage my Booking” button at the top of the parking homepage.

  • What if I need to change my booking?

    Before arrival into the car parks:  

    If you booked a flexible product, you can amend your bookings up to 2 hours prior to arrival in to the car park without any additional fees.  Go to the “Manage My Booking” button on the parking homepage to change your booking up to 2 hours prior to your scheduled arrival time at no charge. In all communication please quote the booking reference number. Your booking reference number is contained in your booking confirmation that is emailed to you.  Bookings under other products cannot be amended.

    After arrival into the car parks:

    If your return is delayed, you will be charged a discounted overstay rate.

  • What happens if I forget or lose my booking confirmation?

    If you do not have your booking confirmation, you are still able to enter and exit the booked car park, by swiping your nominated credit card at the entry and exit barriers. Alternatively you can have a new booking confirmation emailed to you by clicking on the “display previous Booking” button at the top of the parking home page.

  • What is “Manage my Booking”?

    This service enables you to change or cancel your booking online. You can change your parking product with a new one subject to availability. You can also change your nominated credit card details and the dates originally booked. All changes must be made 24 hours in advance of your original booked arrival time.

  • What is “Display Previous Bookings”?

    This allows you to view the recent bookings you have made. You will simply need to enter your email address and postcode from your last online booking.

  • What happens if I want to bring a different nominated credit card to the one confirmed at booking?

    If you are going to use a different nominated credit card to that detailed on your confirmation invoice, you can change these details online. Simply click on “Manage my Booking” function at the top of the website. if you do not change your details and enter and exit the car park using a card that is not your nominated credit card, you will be charged at the rates displayed at the entry to the car park.

  • What do I do when I get to the car park?

    Upon entering your chosen car park, please insert your nominated credit card at the entry barrier to gain access. The confirmation email you will receive gives comprehensive instructions on what to do when you arrive at the car park. This information is also contained under the Maps and info link for each car park display during booking online. If you experience any problems at time of entry or exit of the car park, please contact our customer service staff using the intercom button at the entry or exit gate.

  • Where should I park once I have entered the car park?

    You may park in any space in that car park that is unoccupied unless parking signage indicates otherwise.

  • What happens when I return?

    Go straight to where you parked your car and drive to the exit. Simply insert the same credit card at the exit machine and the barrier will open and you will be on your way.

  • What happens if I enter the car park prior to my confirmed booking time or exit the car park later than my confirmed booking time?

    If you enter the car park before your confirmed booking time, or exit the car park later than your confirmed booking time, the credit card that you use to exit the car park (i.e. your nominated card) will be debited with the cost of the additional time, based on the rates displayed at the entry to the car park.

  • Is there a grace period on my booking?

    There is a 1 hour grace for either side of your booking arrival time (i.e. if you have a booked arrival time of 9.00am on Wednesday the car park will recognise your booking if you arrive any time between 8.00am and 10.00am on Wednesday).
    However, if you enter outside of this booked arrival time and the grace period, the credit card that you use to enter and exit the car park (i.e. your nominated card) will be debited with the cost of the total time spent in the car park based on the rates displayed at the entry to the car park.

  • What happens if I exit the car park earlier than the time I pre-booked?

    No refund will be made if your stay is shorter than the booking period.

  • What is a Flexible rate?

    A Flexible rate is a rate that allows you to create a new booking or change an existing booking any time up to 24 hours before the booked arrival time. If you are changing an existing booking, and the purchase price for the new requested booking period or product exceeds the purchase price for the original booking, you will be required to pay the difference between these amounts. If this is less than the purchase price for the original booking, you will be refunded the difference between these amounts.
    There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the commencement of the booked arrival time.

  • What is a Non-Flexible rate?

    A Non-Flexible rate is a discounted or promotional rate that offers you great value. There are no refunds for cancellation of non-Flexible rate bookings so please be sure to choose your car park, dates and times with care.

  • Why can’t I book for less than 24 hours?

    The system is currently configured to only allow stays of 24 hours or longer to ensure that we can manage demand and provide a space in the car park you wish to book for.

  • Can I book Disabled parking?

    All Melbourne Airport car parks offer plenty of disabled parking and the location of these bays are available on the Melbourne Airport parking page click here. To make an online booking, follow the normal instructions and enter your dates and select the car park that you wish to park in. When you arrive at the booked car park, proceed to the bays indicated clearly on the map and park your car.

  • Why do I need to provide my email details?

    Your booking details will be sent to your email address to ensure that you have a record of your online booking details. The information included in the online booking details is part of your credit card number, dates and times, and the car park that you have booked. By providing your email address we can also keep you up to date with special offers if you choose to accept our newsletter.

  • What if I misplace my credit card while on holidays?

    On return to Melbourne Airport, please proceed to the customer service booth located on the ground floor of the At Terminal car park where a friendly customer service officer will assist you.
