Protected Industrial action at Melbourne Airport

Mar 30, 2016

Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) members of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, including the Australian Border Force, and the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources will be taking part in protected industrial action that will affect Melbourne Airport on Thursday 31 March and Friday 1 April.

Passengers heading overseas and returning to Australia are likely to experience delays.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport when their flight opens for check-in —at least three hours before the departure time. Please proceed directly to security screening and passport control once check-in is completed.

If you are picking up a passenger who is delayed, please be reminded that you can park for FREE at the Ring & Ride Wait Zone for 20 minutes. Ring & Ride is located on the corner of Mercer Drive and Melrose Drive.

Melbourne Airport will provide additional volunteers to assist passengers, however as this is a matter for Border Force, for more information please visit: http://www.border.gov.au/News/Pages/travellers-clients.aspx
