Practice emergency exercise on Wednesday, 9 May

On Wednesday 9 May, Melbourne Airport is hosting an emergency exercise.
The airport will operate as normal with no disruptions to flights.
As part of the exercise, some of the field activities will be visible from the terminal and surrounding roads at Melbourne Airport however these activities will not impact on flights or normal operations.
The emergency exercise, Exercise Hades 12, is a multi-jurisdictional exercise with participants including Melbourne Airport, Victoria’s police and emergency services, Australian government agencies and the support of New South Wales and South Australian Police. The exercise will test the national counter-terrorism and emergency management arrangements with a focus on the response and recovery phases. The exercise will identify opportunities to improve the national counter-terrorism capability to prepare for, respond to and recover from threats and acts of terrorism.
