Scheduled freeway closures

Nov 15, 2011

The Tullamarine Freeway will be closed at times over the next couple of months due to construction works being undertaken by Melbourne Airport and VicRoads.

The closures have been scheduled to take place at night, to minimise disruption as much as possible. Melbourne Airport works are part of the APAC Drive On-ramp construction. We have worked with VicRoads to schedule freeway closures at the same times that work is being done on the M80 Ring Road upgrade - to minimise the total number of closures.

The program of works schedule is below. Detours are currently being finalised and maps will be available shortly. Please visit the website regularly for the most up to date information. This schedule is subject to change if works cannot be completed due to inclement weather.

APAC Drive On-ramp is one of Melbourne Airport's major projects, underway to help manage our growth and ease congestion in and out of the airport.

Once the On-ramp is completed, APAC Drive will take around 15 percent of traffic from the southern end of the airport precinct, helping to reduce traffic around the terminal.
