Ring Road and freeway roadworks

Jul 22, 2011

Evening roadworks are being undertaken from Sunday 24 - Wednesday 27 July on the M80 Ring Road, resulting in the lane closures, some delays and detours to airport-bound traffic - on both the Tullamarine Freeway and the M80 Ring Road.   A list of roadworks and their likely impacts for airport traffic are listed below.  For the most comprehensive and up to date information please go to www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/M80Upgrade

There will also be right lane closed on the Tullamarine Freeway in both directions - around the point of the M80 Ring Road overpass.  This will delay traffic heading to and from the airport, although given the night-time duration, it is expected that any delays will be less than 15 minutes.

Tuesday 26 July - 8:30pm to 5:00am

Exit ramp from the M80 Ring Road (travelling towards Greensborough) onto the Tullamarine Freeway (travelling towards the airport) will be closed again on the evening of Tuesday 26 July 2011.  This will impact traffic travelling towards the airport - please allow at least an additional 15 minutes to your travel time.   Airport bound traffic will be detoured at Airport Drive, before rejoining the Tullamarine Freeway at Mickleham Road.

Tuesday 26 July - 10:30pm to 5:00am

Exit ramp from the Tullamarine Freeway to the M80 Ring Road will be closed - impacting traffic travelling away from the airport.  This is likely to cause some minor delays around the area, but given the night-time scheduling of the works, these delays are likely to be less than five minutes.
