Melbourne Airport welcomes Royal Brunei

Apr 30, 2011

Melbourne Airport today welcomed Royal Brunei Airlines’ inaugural flight to Melbourne on the first of its four times a week Brunei - Melbourne services.

Melbourne Airport CEO, Mr Chris Woodruff said, “We are pleased to welcome Royal Brunei to Melbourne Airport.  As our 27th international airline, the new services mean a further 120,000 international seats are now available every year between Brunei and Melbourne.

“In addition, our most significant markets including our top two long haul markets, China, and the United Kingdom, are further supported through Royal Brunei’s extensive Asian and European networks.”

“At Melbourne Airport, we offer our airline customers, including Royal Brunei, key operational advantages including low aeronautical charges and high service levels as well as the flexibility provided through our single terminal, curfew free operations,” said Mr Woodruff.

“Melbourne itself is a fantastic destination and we look forward to continuing to work with Royal Brunei, in conjunction with government and industry bodies, to further promote Melbourne as a prime travel destination for its passengers.”
