Disabled access at Melbourne Airport

The wellbeing of disabled passengers and visitors is of the highest priority at Melbourne Airport. Both the Arrivals level and Departures level are linked by travelators and lifts.

Most airlines can provide wheelchairs upon request with prior notification. Please contact your airline directly to request a wheelchair prior to arriving at the airport or when you book your flight.  You can find the airline contact details here

If you are not travelling with an airline, please contact the Travellers Information Desk on + 61 3 9297 1734 where you can hire a free wheelchair prior to your arrival at the airport. The maximum hire period is 45 minutes and a $50 refundable cash deposit and photo ID are required upon collection of the wheelchair.  Please note that bookings are essential and due to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, airport staff are unable to provide passengers with any transfer assistance.

The Travellers Information Desk is located in Terminal 2 (T2) - International Arrivals (ground level).
