MELBOURNE AIRPORT’S STAFF COMPETITION
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
On entering this competition you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions:

STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.

1.2 This is a game of chance

1.3 The winner will be chosen at random.

1.4 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

2. WHO CAN ENTER?

2.1 Entry is open to all Melbourne Airport Staff and employees who are employed by companies that operate within the airport grounds.

3. HOW TO ENTER

3.1 Entrants can enter the weekly prize and the grand prize by completing an entry online www.melbourneairport.com.au/takemetochina and fill in all the required fields.

3.2 The requirement for entry is to spend a minimum of $5 within the T1 – T2 link food & beverage outlets. Participating outlets are Nandos, Subway, Hudsons Coffee, Hungry Jacks and Muffin Break

3.3 The competition commences on Friday July 1 2016 (AEST) and entries must be received by 11.59pm on Sunday August 14 2016 (AEST).

3.4 Incomplete or incoherent entry forms may be deemed invalid at the discretion of the Promoter.

3.5 The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

3.6 Failure to comply with the above conditions or complete all fields required will deem the entry invalid and no correspondence will be entered into.

4. CRITICAL DATES

4.1 The Promotional Period for prizes commences at 12 midnight Friday July 1 2016 (AEDST) and closes at 11.59pm on Sunday August 14 2016 (AEST)

4.2 The Grand Prize winner will be the entrant who is chosen at random. The random selection will take place on Tuesday August 16 at 3pm at the office of the creative agency, We Are Balance 2/1 Bik Lane, Fitzroy, Melbourne, Victoria 3068.

4.3 The prize winner will be contacted by email and their name announced on the Melbourne Airport website www.melbourneairport.com.au/takemetochina

4.4 If the grand prize is unclaimed a second judging will take place at the creative agency’s office on Thursday December 1 2016 at 10am (AEST).

4.5 In such an event, the winners will be notified in writing and published on the website www.melbourneairport.com.au/takemetochina

5. MAJOR PRIZE

5.1 There is one (1) major prize to the total value of AU$6500.
- The prize consists of 2 return economy tickets to Xiamen, China for two (2) people (rrp $750 per person return)
- (1) prepaid Visa to the value of $5,000 AUD

5.2 Travel Insurance is not included in the prize and we strongly recommend it is taken by the winner before travel.

5.3 Availability of the flight component of this prize cannot be guaranteed during peak periods including but not limited to the Christmas period, School Holidays or special event periods and is subject to availability.

5.4 Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the participating prize providers, if for any reason the winner does not, once the prize has been booked, take the prize (or an element of the prize) at the time stipulated, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited and will not be redeemable for cash.

5.5 All travel must be booked within 12 months from winning announcement. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist in transit or at any destination. Winners of the prize should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings.

5.6 The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, employer and transaction value) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights

5.7 In participating in the competition, the winners agree to participate and co- operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed, filmed for broadcast and photographed. The winners agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual and non- exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner (and his/her companion) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

5.8 The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages to the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Personal information collected through the competition includes first name, last name, contact phone number, email address, postcode and date of birth. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to subsidiary and related companies, third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors and service providers. The Promoter may use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant (unless an entrant advises the Promoter that the entrant does not wish to receive this material by ticking the relevant box at the time of entering the competition), or any other purpose set out in the Promoter's Privacy Policy available at http://melbourneairport.com.au/privacy-policy.html.

5.9 If a prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner must sign legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity.

5.10 The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. WEEKLY PRIZES

6.1 There are (6) weekly Flight Centre vouchers to the value of $500.

6.2 The weekly prize winner will be selected at random on the following dates.
Week 1 – 11/7/16
Week 2 – 18/7/16
Week 3 – 25/7/16
Week 4 – 1/8/16
Week 5 – 8/8/16
Week 6 – 15/8/16

6.3 The weekly winner will be selected from new entries from each week of the competition.

7. NO LIABILITY

7.1 CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COMPETITION OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVILLAWS. THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE EVENT THAT ANY SUCH ATTEMPT IS MADE, WHETHER OR NOT THAT ATTEMPT RESULTS IN ANY SUCH DAMAGE, INTERFERENCE OR UNDERMINING.

7.2 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Eligible persons understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. The information an Eligible Person provides will only be used for the purposes outlined in these Conditions. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Competition must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook

7.3 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to government legislation.

7.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for lost, interrupted communications or unavailable server or other connections, failed telephone, mid-delivery or computer transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic.

7.5 If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.

7.6 The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry of any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.

7.7 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports limit, exclude or modify the Promoter's liability in relation to the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Non-Excludable Guarantees Liability).

7.8 Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees Liability, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion including (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
