Melbourne Airport Melrose Drive Duplication Project
Works to improve Melbourne Airport’s ground transport access is continuing with the duplication of Melrose Drive and Grants Road, which will increase capacity on these carriageways while reducing congestion in and around the airport precinct.
Early works to duplicate Melrose Drive and Grants Road from single lane to double lane carriageways in each direction are underway.
These works include a new gas and water main constructed along Service Road and within the outdoor Long Term Car Park.
Construction will occur inside the outdoor Long Term Car Park along the northern boundary between Centre Road and Bus Stop B, and across the car park towards Melrose Drive.
While regular traffic movement within the car park will be maintained at all times, some car spaces will not be available for parking during the works.
Signs have been placed in the car park to identify the location where works are to occur from early February until completion at the end of March 2014.
Visitors using the outdoor Long Term Car Park are asked to obey the signage and not park in these areas.
