Taxis

A fee of $2 per vehicle applies to passengers leaving Melbourne Airport from a taxi rank. A fee of $3 per vehicle applies to pre-booked passengers using a transfer service or taxi from the premium parking area which is located opposite Terminal 1 (Qantas and Jetstar - adjacent to the short term car park.

From Melbourne Airport (and across the state) prepaid taxi fares apply between 10pm and 5am.

Anti-touting

Travellers should note that it is illegal for taxi or chauffeur car drivers to approach you at the airport offering transport.  This practice is known as touting.  If you are approached by someone you are not expecting who wishes to assist you with your transport needs, you should politely decline the invitation and report the incident to the Victorian Taxi Directorate (VTD) on 1800 638 802 (toll-free) or by visiting http://www.taxi.vic.gov.au.

Melbourne Airport and the Victorian Taxi Directorate do not support touters. Clear signage, taxi ranks and Melbourne Airport traffic coordinators are in place to help passengers on the next leg of their journey.
