New VHA Parking Areas
Melbourne Airport is rapidly growing. Over the next five years, $1 billion will be spent to improve our terminal facilities and road networks.
To start improving traffic flow around the terminal, work will shortly commence to streamline traffic in and out of the forecourt and begin to ease road congestion in the airport precinct. Works will also help to improve safety and security measures at the airport.
The first stage of the project will be to relocate the VHA vehicles to two new areas. As of Monday 7 November 2011, designated VHA vehicle areas will be established in the short-term car park and T4 express car park. Please see the map attached.
Approximately 90 VHA car parks will be available in these new areas, replacing the smaller existing area located in-front of the ParkRoyal.
These two premium locations have been selected to ensure close proximity to the terminal for our customers.
These new locations will allow VHA drivers to leave their vehicles unattended and meet customers inside the terminal.
A new security procedure being introduced will mean that vehicles parked in the Forecourt including those located in the outer lane will not be able to be left unattended.
The VHA designated zones will remain at the existing price of $3 for 30 minutes. This half hourly fee will apply up to the first 60 minutes, totalling $6. Short-term car park fees will apply after this period.
