Current projects

Stage one of our terminal revelopment project has been opened to provide better traffic flow and reduce congestion.

The revamped forecourt includes a new one-minute public pick-up zone, and separate lanes for buses, taxis and private cars. VHA hire cars have been relocated to new locations in the short term car parking areas near T1 and T3.

The project team worked over 7,500 hours since November 2011 to ensure the forecourt could be operational during the busy Christmas period.  The project has been delivered on schedule with no lost time injuries.

Stage two of the forecourt project will commence in 2012. Melbourne Airport is currently identifying and assessing design options including the separation of pedestrians and vehicles and ways to increase the efficiency of exiting traffic.
